Ticket PDF Download for Zendesk
Installation Help
Q: How do I install the app?
A: Go to Zendesk Admin Center → Apps and integrations → Marketplace, search for "Ticket PDF Download", and click Install.
Q: Where does the app appear?
A: After installation, open any ticket in Zendesk Support. The app will appear in the right sidebar labeled "Ticket PDF Download".
Q: Do I need any special permissions?
A: You need standard agent access to Zendesk Support. The app will only access tickets that you have permission to view.
Using the App
Q: How do I include internal notes in the PDF?
A: Check the "Include internal notes" checkbox in the sidebar before clicking "Download PDF".
Q: Can I export Side Conversations?
A: Yes! Check the "Include side conversations" checkbox. Note that this feature requires the Zendesk Collaboration add-on to be enabled in your account.
Q: What format is the exported file?
A: The app generates a standard PDF file that can be opened in any PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, etc.).
Q: How many comments are included?
A: The PDF includes all ticket comments in chronological order (oldest to newest).
Troubleshooting
Q: The app doesn't appear in my sidebar
A: Ensure the app is installed and enabled in Admin Center. Try refreshing your browser or logging out and back in.
Q: I'm getting an error when downloading
A: Clear your browser cache and try again. Ensure you're using a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). If the issue persists, contact us with the specific error message.
Q: Internal notes aren't showing up
A: Make sure you've checked the "Include internal notes" checkbox before generating the PDF. Also verify that your Zendesk role has permission to view internal notes.
Q: Side conversations option is grayed out
A: This feature requires the Zendesk Collaboration add-on. Check with your Zendesk administrator to enable it.
Privacy & Security Questions
Q: Is my ticket data stored anywhere?
A: No. The app generates PDFs entirely in your browser. No data is stored or transmitted to external servers.
Q: Where is the data processed?
A: All processing happens client-side in your web browser using JavaScript. The app only accesses data through Zendesk's App Framework.
Q: Who can see my tickets?
A: The app uses your existing Zendesk permissions. You can only export tickets you have permission to view in Zendesk.
